Position Summary:

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of English seeks an outstanding and energetic administrator/teacher to serve as a Faculty Associate in the UW-Madison Writing Center, with specialization in Accessibility and Universal Design for Learning.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

MA, MS, required; PhD (preferred), in English, composition and rhetoric, or related field.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

The successful candidate will have at least two years of experience (during graduate studies or beyond) teaching college-level writing and two years of experience teaching in a writing center and/or working with a writing across the curriculum program; demonstrated excellence as a writing teacher and tutor; strong leadership and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong initiative and work ethic; and outstanding interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with undergraduates, graduate students, academic staff, and faculty across the disciplines.

Additional Information:

Additional desired skill areas include experience with providing accessible Writing Center experiences for students with disabilities; writing center and writing across the curriculum research; and knowledge and practice of the scholarship of teaching and learning.
