Position Summary:
Nine (9) month undergraduate non-tenure faculty position in the
ACEN accredited A-State School of Nursing on the Jonesboro Campus
beginning Fall 2021
Participation in teaching, student advising, professional service
is expected and scholarly activity is desired. The position is
full-time at the rank of assistant professor
Duties & Responsibilities:
Teaching Faculty:

Accepts delegated appropriate
assignments and responsibilities
Accepts responsibility for
assessing student learning and evaluating student learning
outcomes
-
Actively participates in
development and evaluation of curriculum, course content, clinical
experiences, and test construction
Is responsible for didactic
courses and/or clinical group size appropriate to area of clinical
practice
Plans and supervises clinical
experiences
Establishes effective coordinating
relationships with faculty, staff and clinical agency
representatives
Continues education for
professional growth

Desirable to participate in
nursing research and other scholarly work, including but not
limited to presentations at professional meetings, grant
applications, book and textbook reviews, enrollment in university
courses

Participates in academic advising
and guidance of students
Maintains office hours
Participates in the faculty
organization and appropriate program, college and university
activities
Serves on assigned program,
college and university committees
Sponsors and promotes planned
activities of students, program, college and university as
requested
Contributes to the community
through involvement in and/or consultation to health related
organizations, board memberships, or professional presentations to
the public
Participates in planning for the
continued growth and progress of the program through faculty and
student recruitment and retention efforts
Holds membership and participates
in organizations that advance the profession of nursing and
advanced practice nursing, such as the ANA or other professional
organizations
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of curriculum design, strategies to promote student
learning, assessment and evaluation of learning, evidence based
education principles, basic nursing skills and a commitment to
life-long learning
Possess interpersonal and communication skills necessary to teach
as part of a faculty team
General Days/Hours:
Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (hours vary related to clinical rotations,
office hours, didactic course load, and other program
activities)
Additional hours as requested and/or needed
Regular and reliable attendance
Other:
Full time--up to 15 credit hour teaching workload.
Academic experience preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master of Science in Nursing Degree
Nursing academic teaching experience preferred
Two (2) years clinical practice as a RN
Must be eligible for licensure to practice nursing in Arkansas or
compact state
