Southern Arkansas University is accepting applications for a 9-month tenure track chemical engineering faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Engineering in the College of Science and Engineering.  Our rapidly growing Engineering and Physics Department is housed in a dedicated, state of the art facility with new labs fully equipped with the latest equipment, complemented with a full-fledge engineering machine shop. Duties: Teaching responsibilities will include teaching of freshmen to upper-level undergraduate engineering courses in the area of chemical engineering , including but not limited to Chemical Engineering Fundamentals, Mass Transfer, chemical Engineering Processes and Reactor Design, Chemical Engineering Laboratory, and oversee successful completion of Senior/capstone Design Projects in Chemical Engineering; other assignments will include teaching in the applicant’s area of expertise; supervise undergraduate research projects; serve on committees; perform scholarly activity; engage in recruitment, retention, and advising students and student club; will have a chance to play key role in the rising chemical engineering concentration in a growing B. S. Engineering program and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Doctoral degree in chemical Engineering required by time of employment; applicants with teaching and industry experience preferred; familiarity with ABET accreditation strongly desired but not required; expertise in chemical engineering and demonstrate an ability to teach undergraduate students; excellent communication skills, ability to work well with people, and a strong desire to interact with students both in the classroom and undergraduate research projects.
