Executive Assistant Department: Head of School's Office Location: Washington, DC
Position Start Date: July 2021
Sidwell Friends, a coeducational Quaker day school with campuses in Washington, DC, and Bethesda, MD seeks a seasoned Executive Assistant. This position provides a variety of complex and confidential administrative, clerical and logistical support to the chief executive (Head of School) at Sidwell Friends as well as another key member of the senior leadership team, the Assistant Head for Finance and Operations.
The Executive Assistant must have superior interpersonal and communication skills, adhere to the highest level of confidentiality, possess a warm, welcoming manner, sound judgment, be highly organized, possess strong attention to detail, the capacity to deal with sensitive and privileged information, effective time management, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a rapidly changing environment.
Primary duties include heavy calendar management for two senior administrators, meeting scheduling and logistics for all senior team, full board meetings, board committee meetings and retreats, taking and distribution of minutes, coordination of travel, as well as managing correspondence and maintaining paper/electronic filing systems. Sidwell Friends is operating with in-person classes and this role is expected to work in-person and on campus on a daily basis.
The ideal candidate will possess at least 5 years of experience providing administrative support to executive/senior managers. A bachelors degree is required. The person selected for this role must adhere to the highest level of integrity and discretion and have impeccable organizational skills.
