The University of Colorado Boulder is seeking candidates for a limited-term case investigator position. Located in the Office of Public Health within Health and Wellness Services, this public health professional plays an important part in the University's comprehensive COVID-19 response.

The case investigator is responsible for contacting CU affiliates (students, faculty, staff) with laboratory-confirmed and probable, diagnoses of COVID-19. The case investigator provides health education and guidance in order to interrupt ongoing disease transmission. The primary role of a case investigator is to conduct interviews to better understand an individual's exposure to COVID-19 by gathering information on symptoms and symptom onset, where someone may have been exposed and activity history while infectious. To slow the spread of COVID-19, the case investigator gathers information regarding close contacts to pass on to the contact tracers. Case investigators are required to comply with confidentiality and privacy guidelines regarding protected health information and FERPA-protected information.
