The College of Business Administration is one of four colleges at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. The CBA consists of six academic departments and one non-academic department, the Small Business Development Center.
Position Summary
The Outreach Program Manager will lead the day-to-day and outreach elements of the newly established Menard Family Midwest Initiative for Economic Research and Engagement (The Initiative). The Director works to expand the community’s awareness of the Initiative’s programs and services, strengthen the partnerships currently in place, and cultivate new opportunities and relationships with community, civic, and business groups. Increased community engagement is one of the pillars of the Initiative. Working directly with Dr. Adam Hoffer, the Director will also coordinate efforts with the other Initiative Faculty, and Student hires.
Required Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience in communications, outreach, or operations
• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university in a content area appropriate to a position related to community/public relations.
• Evidence of the ability to assess and quantitatively demonstrate the efficacy of community engagement partnerships
• Evidence of the ability to plan, organize, execute, and assess events.
• Proven track record of an ability to work effectively with various stakeholders, constituents, businesses, and community groups.
• Experience with project management and goal achievement.
• Capacity to effectively use technology to manage schedules, communication, and deadlines.
• Evidence of inter-unit collaboration and outcomes.
• Evidence of an understanding of inclusion and diversity as crucial components of student success.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications

Serve as the Initiative’s primary point of contact for external organizations or businesses who are interested in developing or furthering partnerships with the Initiative’s students, staff, or faculty.
Duties to Support Responsibility
• Maintain and enhance relationships with communities of interest or identity with ties to the Initiative and UWL .
• Connect interested partners with appropriate resources, units, and/or individuals on campus.
• Convey the general processes and procedures associated with partnerships (such as internships and contracts and various memos of understanding) to external entities and refer to the appropriate sources. Furthermore, convey the academic calendar and academic needs for students associated with the wide variety of potential community-based opportunities.
• Promote services and collaborations available through the Initiative and UWL to the community
stakeholders.
• When requested by senior leadership, represent the Initiative at events that directly reflect or inform the Initiative’s community partnership opportunities.

• Provide Initiative Researchers support in their research needs. This may include participant recruitment, writing support, and lab operations.

• Develop and execute events that promote the Initiative’s general mission and vision.
• Act as a liaison for the initiative with other on-campus faculty, administrators, and other centers.
