Job Summary

The coordinator for HR and benefits supports the benefits director with various accounting functions, verifies insurance billing, maintains compliance and assists employees with enrollment and benefits inquiries.

Essential Job Functions and Performance Indicators

The intent of this job description is to provide a representation of the types of duties and level of responsibility that will be required of positions given this title. Job Responsibilities and Execution

  • Balances all invoices and payroll deductions and completes regular audit reports
  • Manages the employee onboarding process, including elections of benefits, I-9s, direct deposits and policy signoffs
  • Oversees the employee health management system, HealthCheck360, and assists employees in understanding wellness rates, how points are generated and how to read their wellness scores
  • Manages all of the university’s tuition benefits, including the Tuition Exchange and Council for Independent Colleges programs, Public Service Loan Forgiveness certifications and internal tuition benefits
  • Handles all COVID intake for employees, including responding to tickets, tracking employee data and generating reports
  • Helps maintain benefit compliance through accurate filing of records and ensuring policies are aligned with state and federal laws
  • Generates reports to monitor integrations between Workday and insurance carriers and addresses related issues and concerns

Service Excellence

  • Supports the mission of the university and serves as an ambassador of the Q2 culture of service excellence
  • Models, supports and holds others accountable to the university’s values – integrity, dedication, excellence, creativity and teamwork
  • Assists employees with health, dental, vision, life and other related benefit claims and questions
  • Researches and helps solve employee issues related to claims, billing, deductions, etc.
  • Guides new employees through the onboarding process while providing an explanation of benefits
  • Supports the benefits director during open enrollment by helping employees complete online enrollments and answering employee questions

Communication, Teamwork and Collaboration

  • Works with the benefits director, employees and supervisors to monitor Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and other work-related leaves
  • Collaborates with appropriate parties in administering the Lindenwood wellness program by providing relevant employee information as it relates to wellness challenges, catalogue items, events, etc.
  • Maintains communication with employees regarding HealthCheck360 and provides education and training on the wellness incentive program
  • Provides ongoing support to the human resources, benefits and payroll teams
  • Organizes and schedules all Employee Assistance Program (EAP) speaker events

Required Qualifications – An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. Additional requirements may be designated by position.

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Prior accounting or benefits experience preferred
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification preferred
