Title: Springfield Center Director

Position Summary: The primary objective of this position is to promote, develop and manage the operation of the Springfield Center of Volunteer State Community College consistent with institutional mission, values, and goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Leads campus faculty/staff in a continuous review and evaluation of the effectiveness of the campus and recommends actions required for the development and improvement of the campus while managing the day-to-day operations of the site. Represents the College in the community to ensure awareness of the campus offerings and develop effective partnerships between the College and community and industry groups in Robertson County. Promotes the College and the campus to internal and external constituencies. Reviews class schedules and makes recommendations to the academic divisions for class offerings at the campus that are based on enrollment patterns, application trends, and area workforce needs. Collaborates with the Public Relations Department, Student Services, and Continuing Education in the development of marketing strategies for the recruitment of students, both credit and non-credit, to the programs of the site. Supervises the management of the physical facilities and equipment at the campus and coordinates with Gallatin campus staff as needed to ensure the proper maintenance and appearance of the facilities. Collaborates with Continuing Education in developing non-credit/business and industry/workforce development programs at the site and at other locations in the area. Maintains regular contact with the essential offices and support services on Gallatin Campus in order to conduct the day-to-day business of the site. Maintains a close liaison with the personnel of Austin Peay State University as they develop and deliver courses and services at the site. Maintains a working knowledge of internal and external policies, guidelines, and procedures specific to the operation of an off-campus site. Develops effective dual enrollment and dual credit partnerships in assigned counties in close coordination with Gallatin campus staff. Recruits and supervises full-time and part-time site personnel in accordance with College policies and procedures. Assists in the formulation of reports, analyses, studies, objectives, and strategies on enrollment, major trends, patterns, projections, etc. related to the site. Participates in student advising as needed. Participates in the ongoing activities and training and other activities of the College, as required. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications: Master's degree. At least four years of related experience. Supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate in Education or closely related field. Experience in higher education developing and coordinating various community, industry and educational partnerships.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Work Characteristics: Demonstrated knowledge of community college practices and procedures. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Demonstrated effective writing, speaking, and listening skills, analytical ability, attention to detail, planning, and organizational skills. Self-motivating initiative, diplomacy, mature nature, flexibility in dealing with multiple tasks and diverse issues.

Pay Rate: 48,370.00 - 60,460.00 annual salary depending on experience
