Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s in physical education, exercise science, education with an emphasis in physical education, kinesiology, physiology of exercise or adaptive physical education OR Bachelor’s in any of the above AND Master’s in any life science, dance, physiology, health education, recreation administration or physical therapy

OR Any bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of professional experience, OR any associate degree and six years of professional experience.

OR the equivalent. Equivalent qualifications may include related education, training, employment and professional experience that would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience in this field as determined by the District Equivalency Committee.

Desirable Qualifications:
Minimum three (3) years of aquatics coaching experience at the college, high school, club, or professional levels. Proven ability to successfully prepare and coach at the intercollegiate level.

Knowledge of coaching and managing team processes, recruiting, considerations, and solutions at the college level.

Effective oral and written communication skills, as well as a willingness to work in a team-oriented environment that values community.

Knowledge of current innovative coaching and teaching methods that encourage student engagement and learning.

Commitment to the community college mission and objectives of providing instruction for students whose abilities and interests cover a wide range.

Demonstrated pattern of recent participation in professional development activities.
