The Department of Communication & Theatre Arts at Old Dominion University seeks highly qualified applicants for adjunct instructor positions in strategic communication, public relations and/or advertising beginning Fall 2021. We are seeking instructors both for on-campus and online opportunities. Online instructors need not be local.
Minimum Qualifications - knowledge, skills, and abilities: Successful applicants will have experience teaching undergraduate courses related to strategic communication, public relations, Crisis/Emergency/Risk Communication, advertising, digital storytelling and social media management. Other courses may also be available.
Minimum Qualifications - Education or training: Minimum academic credentials are an earned Master's degree in Communications, Advertising, or an equivalent field or possess significant professional experience working in these industries.
Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to applicants with:
- Experience teaching
- Experience working in strategic communication, public relations and/or advertising
- Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, and After Effects), graphic design, and/or video production experience
