Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
-
Use the formal process for data requests through the
PMAP system such as refining cohorts and doing basic analysis based
guidance outlined in eFormR, eFormS, and/or
eFormA.
Assist Project Manager in development of manual of
procedures to maintain high quality data.
Data management including data checking and cleaning
of data.
Oversee and perform construction of datasets,
variables and data cleaning.
Filter and clean data, and review computer reports,
printouts, and indicators to locate and correct code problems.
Design strategies, analyses, and datacode
books.
Merge data, create datacode books and recode
variables to prepare data for analyses.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in biostatistics, statistics, epidemiology or a related quantitative field preferred.
JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum experience required for the respective job.
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
-
Know how to navigate on the SAFE desktop environment
using tools like cruncher, Leaf, Python, SQL, and Microsoft
Azu
Knowledge of R, STATA, SAS, Access, Excel, MS Word
and RedCap
Experience in statistical analysis, database
management and data analysis including longitudinal
analysis.
Physical Requirements:

Sitting in a normal seated
position for extended periods of time.
Reaching by extending
hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction.
Finger dexterity required
to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole hand(s)
or arm(s), for example, using a keyboard.
Ability to move standard
equipment through a hospital or clinical
environment.

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
