The position of Accountant II has the primary responsibilities of reviewing and preparing vendor payment requests, assisting in the maintenance of the Endowment pool investment and trust accounting, performing various reconciliations, and preparing and entering monthly journal entries.

The Accountant II works closely with the Director of Foundation Financial Operations in the areas of finance, investment management, gift accounting and processing, operations, budget, and data analysis and reporting. The work requires significant attention to detail, including a high volume of routine tasks. This role must establish and nurture effective, collegial working relationships with co-workers and university partners representing the Alumni Foundation in a positive and professional manner.

Education & Formal Training Other Education & Formal Training

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.

Computer Skills Spreadsheet, Presentation, Other - Raiser's Edge preferred, Online accounting/ERP System Experience

Two (2) years of business experience in accounting or comparable position required.

Minimal travel, for ongoing professional education, training, possible alumni and donor events.

Irregular work hours – Must be able to work additional hours during calendar year-end, fiscal year-end, and audit to meet IRS deadlines and to complete other special projects, as needed.

Limited time off will be granted during Calendar year-end processing (January), and fiscal year-end processing (June – August).
