Job Description:

The Student Information and Campus Administrative Systems (SICAS) Center at the SUNY College at Oneonta invites applications for the position of Degree Works Specialist. Expectations include working closely with college administrative professionals to provide functional consulting, training, and customer support for the Degree Works software.

SICAS is a SUNY-wide program organized to provide software enhancements, technical support, best practices, and training for Ellucian's Banner software system to member campuses including SUNY state operated and community college campuses and several associate member campuses made up of private colleges and universities in New York State. SICAS also serves as the program management for the university-wide deployment of Degree Works. The Center is located on its host campus, SUNY Oneonta. SUNY Oneonta is a comprehensive, public, liberal arts and sciences college with 6,500 students. Duties include but are not limited to: providing customer service, help desk support, and campus support in areas related to the Degree Works product for all SUNY campuses; assist with training, consulting, and documentation; understanding the business problems faced by the offices using the Degree Works product; working with Ellucian and the campuses to improve customer satisfaction and promote efficiencies and best practices. The incumbent will be expected to travel to SICAS member campuses, as well as attend meetings and conferences. Travel is required for this position.


Requirements:

Required qualifications: bachelor's degree at the time employment begins; a valid driver's license.

Preferred: previous higher education work experience in one of the following areas: Registrar, Academic Advisement - SUNY preferred; demonstrated experience with the Degree Works product including the Degree Works Scribe tool - SUNY experience preferred; demonstrated experience setting up courses, sections and curriculum in Banner; demonstrated experience with the SICAS modified version of Banner; excellent written communication and presentation skills; demonstrated experience providing customer service in person, over the phone and/or via the internet; the ability to translate business processes and requirements into functional specifications; experience working with and serving diverse populations.
