Administrative Support Specialist

Primary Purpose of Position:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative and budget support to the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) team. Major duties include departmental correspondence, maintaining accurate training and other databases, report writing, taking and distributing minutes, data collection and analysis, verifying and summarizing data, providing purchasing and budget support, and providing overall administrative structure for the Department.

Minimum Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The successful candidate must possess a working knowledge of office or work unit procedures, methods, and practices; knowledge in performance of administrative tasks; knowledge of data collection, storage, organization, manipulation, and or analysis of data; knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) Applications; knowledge of financial budgets including purchasing, reconciliation, etc.; ability to work independently with little or no supervision; to take initiative to see projects and assignments through to completion; to learn, interpret and analyze information to make necessary decisions; to exercise judgment and discretion in problem solving; to plan, prioritize and organize workflow; ability to work flexible schedules; excellent analytical and organizational skills along with written and oral communication; great interpersonal skills to interact effectively and diplomatically with a wide range of individuals in a high pressure environment.
