We are excited to announce that the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine (VMCVM) will be offering a cardiology specialty internship for the year 2020-2021.
The VMCVM cardiology service sees ~800 cases per year and is equipped with state-of-the-art advanced echocardiographic units, 2 workstations with cutting-edge software for offline analysis of 2D and 3D echocardiographic data, C-arm, fluoroscopy suite, invasive pressure monitoring, ECG, telemetry, Holter monitoring, and a wide variety of catheterization equipment.
The intern will join a team comprised of 3 cardiology faculty, 1 third-year resident, a cardiology technician, and a Ph.D. student. Primary involvement in clinical activity, rounds, journal clubs, interventional and research activities performed by the cardiology group is anticipated.
Candidates must have a DVM or equivalent by start date.
Must have completed a one year of small animal rotating internship.
