Daily contact with the public and key stakeholders, including on and off campus professionals, is involved and an accurate knowledge of relaying Admissions policies and procedures set forth by the University and the Office of Admissions is expected. The office engages in a wide range of activities designed to publicize and describe the programs, activities and other opportunities available at UNCW .

Brief Summary of Work for this Position

The Transfer Student Success Coordinator represents UNCW and the Office of Admissions at community colleges in the assigned region of central North Carolina (Raleigh, NC area) by providing comprehensive recruitment, admissions counseling, and pre-enrollment advising services to prospective students seeking to transfer to UNCW . This position will be based in the Raleigh, NC area (not at the main campus in Wilmington)This position will:
•Provide pre-enrollment advising to prospective transfer students to UNCW at assigned community colleges; including assisting students with choosing courses at the community college, providing unofficial evaluations, etc.
•Provide pre-admissions counseling to prospective transfer students to UNCW at assigned community colleges: including helping students locate resources and build a plan to transfer successfully
•Develop and maintain relationships with a variety of community partners, such as community colleges, community organizations, and military partners
•Travel to community colleges within assigned region and represent UNCW through in person or virtual events and programming

This position will be based in the Raleigh, NC area at Wake Technical Community College. This individual will also participate in periodic travel to other community colleges in the assigned region (all assignments are within two hours driving distance from Wake Technical Community College). Travel frequency will depend on the stage of the recruitment cycle.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Preferred education, professional skills and experience

•1-2 years in college/university admissions, advising, or other student services setting
•Excellent organization, communication, and customer service skills
•Proven ability to work independently and as a member of a collaborative team
•Demonstrated ability to effectively manage competing and conflicting demands
•Experience with developing relationships within a university or community college settings
•Experience with collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data to make informed decisions
•Master’s degree
