Serve as lead worker of custodians in the area, to include: train new custodians assigned to area; facilitate teamwork; participate in the interview process and recommend new hires to the Custodial Supervisor, as requested; evaluate disciplinary situations in relation to the Memorandum of Understanding ( MOU ), and recommend disciplinary action to the Custodial Supervisor; serve as the Acting Custodial Supervisor, as requested. Assist custodians in the performance of floorcare and custodial duties to ensure and maintain a clean, pleasant, and healthy environment, to include: strip, sweep, mop, apply finish, and buff hardsurface floors; vacuum and shampoo carpet; move furniture; trash removal; remove snow and ice; dust; clean and disinfect restrooms. Maintain custodial supplies and equipment, to include: train custodians in the safe and proper use of custodial supplies and equipment; maintain and operate custodial equipment, to include: buffers, wet vacuums, shampoo machines, Floor 2001 Scrubbisher, other equipment, as assigned; request needed supplies from the Custodial Supervisor; know the location and condition of all furnishings and equipment. Perform a variety of building security duties.

Education & Formal Training High school diploma or equivalent Other Education & Formal Training Computer Skills Word-Processing Experience

1. Two years of hard-surface floor care experience.
2. One-year custodial supervisor/lead worker experience preferred.

Other Experience Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, & State/Federal Requirements of Position: Police background check, Missouri license required Other Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, & State/Federal Requirements Special Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge: Attention to detail, Knowledge of a University environment preferred, Leadership skills: organization/meeting facilitation/project leadership, Physical abilities: mobility/strength/dexterity/balance/coordination/endurance, Supervisory skills, including motivation, delegation of duties, evaluation, etc, Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines, Maintain confidentiality Other Special Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge

Knowledge of operations, maintenance, and minor repair of custodial equipment.
Knowledge of and ability to perform all procedures to maintain hard surface floors.
Knowledge of and ability to perform all procedures to maintain carpets, upholstery and walls.
Knowledge of custodial supplies and equipment.
Knowledge of safety procedures.
Ability to train custodians on equipment and/or chemicals and supplies.
Ability to react to last minute changes or requests immediately and in a friendly manner.
Ability to read and understand all training materials.
Ability to order supplies and maintain inventory.
Knowledge and ability to check out/in keys from FPO key locker.
