Maintain campus lawns, to include: Mow, edge, trim, irrigate, and fertilize campus lawns. Prepare areas and sow seed and/or lay sod. Operate lawn maintenance equipment. Remove debris and litter from assigned areas. Under direction, maintain and install trees, shrubs, and flowerbeds. Prune, irrigate, weed, and fertilize. Remove snow and ice. Operate snow removal equipment.

Education & Formal Training High school diploma or equivalent Other Education & Formal Training Computer Skills Experience

Six (6) months experience in grounds maintenance, landscape/lawn maintenance, landscaping, or horticulture.

Other Experience Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, & State/Federal Requirements of Position: Driver's license, Missouri license required Other Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, & State/Federal Requirements Special Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge: Attention to detail, Communication skills, including oral, written, and/or nonverbal, Human Relations/Interpersonal skills, Physical abilities: mobility/strength/dexterity/balance/coordination/endurance Other Special Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge

Ability to operate landscape-related equipment and vehicle-mounted snow removal equipment.
Ability to recognize disease and insect problems on landscape material and bring them to the attention of the supervisor .
Ability to work with seeds, fertilizers, dust, grasses, and plant materials.
General working knowledge of turf care, woody ornaments, and annual flowers preferred.
Experience operating specialized grounds maintenance equipment preferred.

Specify sensory abilities: Physical & Environmental Factors: Excessive standing and/or walking, Exposure to extreme temperatures, Exposure to loud noises, Lifting (weight) - 50 lbs. Other Physical & Environmental Factors

Bending, twisting, stooping
Exposure to horticultural/agricultural chemicals.
Outside work in inclement weather during all seasons.

Lifting weight Special Working Conditions: On call/standby work required, Uniform required, Irregular work hours Other Special Working Conditions

Irregular work hours may be required during snow and ice removal or as assigned.
Must wear protective equipment and clothing for some tasks.
