Part-Time Biology Laboratory Aide

SALARY: $12.00 per hour

REPORTS TO: Chairperson, Natural Science

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Prepares solutions, microbiological media, equipment, and other materials required for lab sessions.
2. Maintains equipment, proper housekeeping, and safety rules/regulations in the prep areas and laboratories.
3. Assists in the proper storage and disposal of chemicals and biological materials.
4. Works in coordination with the Senior Laboratory Coordinators to supervise evening and Saturday laboratories.
5. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate degree
• Biological laboratory experience

SCHEDULE: Flexible schedule, up to 20 hours per week, involving late afternoon and early evening hours Monday to Thursday as well as Saturday during the fall and spring semesters.
