REPORTS TO: Director, New Brunswick Center


  1. Assists with supervision of evening operations/Saturday staff, providing support to College and non-MC students and faculty.
  2. Helps administrators with planning, scheduling, and execution of information sessions/events, internally and externally.
  3. Plans, coordinates, and presents financial education workshops for cohorts of traditional and non-traditional students, such as how to pay for college, completing the FAFSA and Alternate Financial Aid application, searching and applying for private scholarships.
  4. Reviews financial aid obligations with students and helps them complete financial aid documents during the verification process.
  5. Arranges information sessions for students at the Edison main campus (tutoring, library, disability services, personal and academic counseling and EOF, etc.).
  6. Assists with logistics in putting together events onsite and coordinates refreshment set ups, signage, hosting, and equipment troubleshooting.
  7. Assists in promoting New Brunswick Center learning opportunities to the community during fairs and events.
  8. Administers non-credit BASK ESL tests and assists non-credit students with course registration and payment.
  9. Assists students with applying for emergency basic needs assistance and actively records data. Advocates for students to visit the Edison main campus as appropriate.
  10. Writes content for flyers, information sessions etc., and coordinates final work with the media services and marketing departments.
  11. Provides administrative support to the front office staff during peak times as needed.
  12. Actively collects data and surveys and plays key role in making recommendations for change.
  13. Prepares weekly, monthly, and semester reports.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor's degree
  • Three years of experience within higher education working directly with students, preferably at a community college
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Strong PC skills with knowledge of MS Office and enterprise resource planning tools
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with diverse populations
  • Experience with Zoom, MS Teams and similar virtual conferencing
  • Ability to travel locally


  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)


SCHEDULE: Tentative Schedule, 20 hours per week

Fall 2021 In-person, Tuesday and Thursday 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Virtual Hours, Monday and Wednesday 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Spring 2022 In-person, Monday through Thursday, 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Saturdays, 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

Hours will vary during summer and semester breaks.
