Purpose:

Provide project and administrative support for diversity/ inclusion, mission integration, and Title IX compliance. Assist with developing initiatives that promoting student engagement and success, fostering an environment that allows all students to develop a strong sense of belonging and inclusion, and creating programming that prepares students to lead in a diverse society. This position requires positive energy, teamwork, customer service, initiative, professionalism, and high levels of integrity and confidentiality in addition to knowledge of campus resources. This person is responsible for handling sensitive information and records. It requires an employee who can make informed, independent decisions when necessary, and work without close supervision. Duties:
  • Coordinate and manage the office administration and logistics of Diversity/Inclusion, Mission Integration, and Title IX Compliance. including but not limited to:
    • Perform routine office functions – ordering and maintaining office supplies, purchase orders, and scheduling, facilities reservation management
    • Provide administrative support for the diversity/inclusion and mission integration by coordinating meetings and scheduling appointments
    • Support diversity/inclusion and mission integration by assisting in maintaining financial transactions and budget management: purchasing, vendor contract processing, travel arrangements, reports, etc.
    • Participate in programs, and activities as appropriate
    • Work closely with Department of Buildings & Grounds on mechanical and custodial issues related to diversity/inclusion and mission integration spaces on campus
    • Manage webpages with updates and respond to feedback
    • Oversee diversity/inclusion, mission integration, and Title IX related committee management
    • Assist with the response to community inquiries and requests
    • Maintain the official records and tracking documents for all Title IX matters
    • Maintain records and develop systems for records retention for the CDIO/Title IX coordinator programming
    • Schedule meetings of the Title IX Team, schedule training for the Title IX Team, schedule Title IX intake and inquiry meetings with students, employees, and third parties as needed, manage Title IX intake processes and forms for the Title IX Coordinator, track and manage Title IX reporting for the University and Title IX Coordinator, draft and manage Title IX communications as directed by the Title IX Coordinator, serve as a resource for Title IX Team members
    • Communicate directly and in conjunction with the Title IX Coordinator with the Ohio Department of Education’s Changing Campus Climate office
    • Work collaboratively with the University’s Equal Opportunity Officer and Title IX Team members to effectuate Title IX processes consistent with the Title IX Policy and to support the Title IX Coordinator
    • Assist with assessment efforts
  • Student Engagement and University Engagement
    • Coordinate all logistics for the diversity/inclusion programs and events
    • Assist in coordination and implementation of: Heritage and Cultural Months Celebration, MLK I Have a Dream Week, a nd other campus engagement programming
    • Assist with providing support, guidance, and mentoring to student affinity groups and advisers
    • Assist with providing support and mentoring to underrepresented students, through interactions and initiative development
    • Assist with the implementation of co-curricular experiences around diversity/inclusion for the student population
    • Coordinate logistics for new faculty and staff orientations, new student orientations, and Baccalaureate celebrations
    • Initiate, develop, maintain, and provide oversight for DEI programs and services that support students in their academic pursuits, campus life, and civic and social responsibilities
  • Contribute to the team’s efforts by welcoming new and different work requirements; exploring new opportunities to enhance the services of the department; helping others accomplish related job results when needed

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred Experience:

Experience in a higher education environment or relatively similar environment required. A demonstrated ability and commitment towards diversity, equity, and inclusion. Skills, Attributes Customer Service:

Work Environment, Physical Demands:
  • Standing or sitting in one position for long periods. Office service hours; computer data input; multiple concurrent tasks with constant service interruptions; faculty and student contact; strict confidentiality; detailed work; occasional evening or weekend hours
