Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job

The position will teach courses in the Department of Mass Communication in the areas of studio production, news production, and broadcast performance. The position is expected to serve on department committees, participate in departmental activities, assist with department and university projects as well as oversee activities in the production studios. The service component, which extends through the summer months, will include coordinating operations for SHSU’s radio and tv stations, which will consist of maintaining the FCC logbook, keeping up with the FCC requirements, maintaining license renewals, etc.

The successful candidate should be passionate about mentoring students and preparing them for entering the workforce.

Educational Requirements for the Position

Master’s degree preferred, other degrees will be considered with commensurate experience.

Experience Required for the Position

Minimum of 2 years of production experience.
Teaching experience in higher education.
