Description of the Job
The Laboratory and Research Technician is responsible for careful
conduct and analysis of: (1) patch clamp experiments in primary
culture of adult ventricular myocytes and heterologous expression
systems (e.g. COS -7 cells), and (2) imaging experiments of fixed
or live cells using confocal and TIRF microscopy. Preparation of
media and solutions, autoclaving of lab ware, lab inventory
Bachelor’s in biology or a biomedical science.
Willingness and ability to learn new experimental techniques with
proper training and supervision by PI then being able to carry out
satisfactorily and in a timely manner.
Ability to work in a diverse environment.
Employee must have ability to think on his/her own and detect
potential problems during the course of experiments, so that he/she
can discuss and troubleshoot with supervisor.
Experience working in a laboratory handling small animal cultured
