About the Opportunity:
The Research Compliance Specialist will be responsible for the oversight and monitoring of the university's research compliance plan focusing on Conflict of Interest and Commitment, Transparency and integrity matters.

The Research Compliance Specialist will serve as in-house resource on research compliance issues and will assist each oversight committee, board, and office responsible for specific elements of research compliance with ensuring compliance with research-related regulatory requirements. The Research Compliance Specialist will work closely with the Research Compliance Department, Office of General Counsel, Research Enterprise Services (NU-RES), and University Compliance.

  • Bachelors degree and 4 - 6 years of experience required. Knowledge of and experience interpreting and applying federal laws, regulations and guidelines governing research

  • Knowledge of forensic image analysis preferred

  • Understanding of the research integrity process preferred

  • Ability to handle sensitive communications with leadership, legal counsel and faculty

  • Strong attention to detail and highly organized

  • Strong interpersonal, analytical and presentation skills

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Strong team player with ability to work well independently and as a group

  • Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and meet deadlines

  • Technical capacity to utilize multiple information systems and Microsoft applications
