Governors State University seeks nominations and applications for two full-time, non-tenure track positions at the rank of Visiting Professor in the area of Computer Science in the Division of Science, Mathematics and Technology; College of Arts and Sciences. The position is available for the 2021-2022 Academic year and successful candidates may be extended for the 2022-2023 academic year. The preferred candidates should demonstrate strong potential to teach primarily graduate Computer Science courses, including Computer Programming- Java ( CPSC 6548), Internet Programming ( CPSC 8720), Advanced Operating Systems ( CPSC 8735), Formal Languages and Automata ( CPSC 8810), Planning and Management of Software Projects ( CPSC 8820), and Advanced Database Concepts ( CPSC 8845). We seek candidates with outstanding teaching skills, and experience teaching and advising non-traditional or diverse student populations. Successful applicants will have an earned Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field; candidates in ABD status will be considered. Governors State University ( GSU ) was founded in 1969, originally as an upper-division institution with a primary focus of serving community college graduates pursuing baccalaureate degrees. 1. Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field. ABD in the final stages of completion in a Computer Science or a related field will be considered. 2. Knowledge and ability to teach a wide range of graduate computer science courses. Preferred Qualifications
1. Teaching and/or professional experience in multiple areas related to Computer Science. 2. Interest in and ability to teach online (web-based) courses.
