Associate Director of Admissions Services

The Associate Director of Admissions Services (Associate Director III) is a managerial employee in the Office of University Admissions, reporting to the Senior Director of Admissions. The Associate Director assists in overseeing the management of admissions operations, including front office reception and the Student Ambassador Program, a team of approximately 40 students responsible for providing campus tours, general application assistance and connecting prospective students with admissions counselors; and does related work as required. The Associate Director manages front office operations and trains staff on best practices in customer service. This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.

The Associate Director is a key member of the enrollment services team who works in collaboration with other managers within the division to provide essential student support services and customer service excellence to prospective and current Kean University students, families and alumni.

This is not a remote position and requires physical presence on campus three days per week or as determined by the Supervisor. It requires working on campus during the COVID-19 pandemic and interacting directly with students following all procedures and protocols set forth in the University’s Restart Plan and any procedures/protocols created through additional correspondence. The employee must have the ability to wear a face covering for the duration of the work day during the COVID pandemic or as determined by university protocol.

Qualifications: B achelor’s degree from an accredited college; two years of professional experience in an admissions or student services office in higher education; a driver’s license valid in NJ; and transportation for recruitment travel are required. A Master’s degree and three to five years of professional experience in a university admissions office, with direct responsibility for personnel and volunteer management is preferred. Candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills, excellent customer service skills and the ability to train staff in customer service operations.
