St. Catherine University invites applications for the Faculty Director of General Education. This is a full-time, twelve month faculty appointment. Rank will be determined based upon experience.

The Faculty Director of General Education will lead and administer the general education program, establishing goals that will impact the strategic direction of the organization. Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with faculty and staff across the university to successfully develop and manage the general education program, liaising with teaching faculty and the faculty senate and assessment committee
  • Assign, evaluate, and coach general education faculty, ensuring they are adequately trained
  • Implement assessments of general education outcomes
    assessment measures for the curriculum are in place and measurable
  • Participate in the ongoing development of relevant curriculum content
  • IntegrateDEIprinciples and strategic objectives into the general curriculum program
  • Ensure the program meets accreditation standards and aligns with the academic and strategic plan
  • Oversee policies and procedures through proper implementation, proposing policy revisions as needed
  • Administer the budget and allocate and approve resources
  • Partner to create and maintain website information
  • Review and approve transfer course equivalents

Minimum Qualifications
  • Ph.D. or terminal degree in a Liberal Arts discipline
  • Five years of teaching experience in higher education
  • Experience using learning outcomes assessments
Preferred Qualifications
  • Success in collaborative work
  • Experience successfully implementingDEIinitiatives
  • Experience developing curriculum
  • Experience developing, implementing, and managing general education programs
  • Experience in university administration/coordination
  • Experience teaching and/or administering general education courses
