Job Summary
Responds to staff requests for technology equipment, support and supplies, performs minor repairs on equipment and assists with inventory. Troubleshoots and repairs technology equipment. Installs, modifies, and makes minor repairs to microcomputer hardware and software systems and provides technical assistance/training to system users.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Completes scheduled technology setups/Ensures equipment is in good operating condition
• Ensures correct software, firmware, and updates are done to the integrated systems
• Experience in installing audio‐visual‐control systems including video conferencing systems, cabling and terminating video/audio systems, and equipment rack fabrication
• Provides system testing and troubleshooting expertise on high‐end A/V integrated control systems (i.e. Extron)
• Responds to emergency calls for assistance/Performs repairs/adjustments on equipment
• Responds to faculty/administrative requests for technology training and support in person or through email
• Assists with maintaining inventory of all campus technology equipment
• Ensures an efficient workflow and maintenance of established quality control standards
• Assists with the installation and preparation of technology for campus events
• Assists with equipment troubleshooting, maintenance, and research
• Responsible for maintaining the schedule of campus events related to technology
• Inspects microcomputer equipment and reads order sheet listing user requirements to prepare microcomputer for delivery
• Installs or assists service personnel in installation of hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and disk drives on user’s premises
• Loads specified software packages such as operating systems, word processing, or spreadsheet programs into computer
• Instructs user in use of equipment, software, and manuals
• Diagnoses system hardware, software, and operator problems
• Assists with scheduling requests for equipment and software for classrooms
• Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
• Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College ( TCC )
• Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation and creativity and service to the College
• Supports the mission, values and 3 goals and 8 principles of the College

Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures
• High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma ( GED )
• One (1) year of experience in technical user support or media support
Desired Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures
• Associate’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university
• Experience using and supporting microcomputers
• Experience working with Crestron and Extron equipment
Knowledge, Skills and Ability
• Knowledge of advanced computer graphics
• Experience with computerized systems
• Basic knowledge of computer networking
• Excellent problem solving abilities
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Must be proactive, self‐directing and goal oriented
