The Department of Psychology invites applications for a Tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The appointment will commence as early as July 01, 2021, subject to budgetary approval. We are looking for a Social Psychologist, broadly defined, who uses an experimental approach to investigate human behaviour. The successful candidate will be an excellent researcher, teacher, mentor, and colleague. This position requires an earned doctorate in Psychology. Hiring salary will be in the range of $70,000-$85,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The Department of Psychology is an Experimental Psychology department, with strengths in animal behaviour, development, sex and gender, and perception. We are currently hiring in the areas of Social Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, and Data Science. The University of Lethbridge offers B.A., B.Sc., M.A., and M.Sc., degrees in Psychology, as well as a Ph.D. in Evolution and Behaviour. The Department is housed in a new state-of-the-art facility. The world-renowned Canadian Centre for Behavioural Neuroscience is just across the hall. Our department recently revised the undergraduate curriculum revision, so the new hires will be part of the new curriculum rollout proposed for fall, 2022.

The successful candidate’s teaching portfolio will include courses from the following list: Social Psychology, Social Cognition, Social Learning and Culture, Human Sociality, Introduction to Statistics, and an advanced course in the applicant’s area of expertise. Research expectations include the development of a robust, externally funded research program and graduate student supervision.
