Position Summary:

Duties will include milking, moving cattle to parlor and calf feeding. Other duties may include feeding, cleaning, handling, and general care of the dairy cattle in an efficient and accurate manner. This position requires that the employee uses experience and ability to follow directions to complete task and to care for livestock with limited supervision.

To be successful in this position you must also exhibit a positive working attitude, communicate well and develop a good working relationship with co-workers and supervisors and show initiative to see what needs to be done and to get it done.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

1. Skid Steer/Feed Cart Operator Certification
2. Consistently work in a quiet, calm manner around cattle
3. Understanding of the dairy lactation cycle
4. Knowledge of types of mastitis, causes, and treatments
5. Demonstrates accuracy in research sampling techniques
6. Demonstrate consistent use of proper milking procedures and routine
7. Ability to diagnose a cow that is at the onset of clinical mastitis or exhibiting other signs of illness

This vacancy is being posted at both the entry and objective level. Title will be determined by years of relevant work experience and qualifications.

Additional Information:

Ability to lift 50 pounds
A criminal background check will be conducted
A probationary period will be required
