Job Summary

Supports the day-to-day operations of the Design and Innovation Center through technical consultation with users, maker assistants, and staff. Supports training, machine maintenance, continuous improvement, inventory and other duties associated with maintaining a fabrication space and associated shops and equipment.

Essential Functions

Supervise Design and Innovation Center activities by ensuring safe practices by all users and maintaining asset security.

Educate and enforce Design and Innovation Center safety rules and instruct on best practices and procedures for all users.

Fabricates parts by operating machinery and equipment associated with research and/or

Perform preventive maintenance and timely repairs on equipment to maximize availability
Provide one-on-one instruction to individual students in technical matters.

Expand personal knowledge and experience through self-motivated learning and project creation.

May perform equipment training or teach training workshops. Facilitate or support instruction.

Perform special tasks and occasional administrative needs as assigned.
