Job Description:
The Fairfield University Swimming & Diving program seeks a Graduate Assistant. The GA Coach will assist with the planning, organizing and management of the swimming & diving program.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Knowledgeable of, and committed to following, Fairfield
University, NCAA and Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC)
rules and guidelines
- 1-2 Years of NCAA level coaching and collegiate swimming
experience
- Must be a highly motivated, self-starter with an outstanding
work ethic
Reports to: Head Swimming & Diving Coach
Essential Functions:
- Serve as the top assistant coach for the men’s and women’s
varsity swimming programs
- Participate in the planning, organizing and execution of
preseason and in-season practices as well as summer workouts
- Responsible for recruiting and evaluating high performing
student-athletes to present to the Head Coach
- Provide administrative support with travel related budget
management including hotels, buses, meals and expense reports
- Collaborate with Sports Performance staff to maximize weight
lifting/conditioning
- Position also serves as the liaison with the Office of
Conference and Events Management for camp relations in the pool
facility to include reserving lifeguards, ensuring the pool and
associated equipment is in good working order and safety is
emphasized throughout the facility
The stipend is $11,000 in addition to the tuition remission of 18 credits per year over 2 year commitment.
