School Social Work Coordinator

Position Purpose: School Social Work Coordinator supports learning by overseeing the direction, implementation, coordination and oversight of the School Social Work Specialization in the MSW program as well as the Post MSW Professional Educator License-School Social Work Endorsement.

Essential Job Functions:

Recruit and serve as advisor for all students in the School Social Work Specialization.

Work with appropriate University offices to set deadlines and entrance criteria for Post MSW Professional Educator License - School Social Work Endorsement Program.

Review applications to the Post - MSW Professional Educator License- School Social Work Endorsement Program, and assist them in finding internships.

Manage and administer all paperwork, monitoring, and communication with the Illinois Board of Higher Education - IBHE regulatory offices.

Administer, manage, and coordinate the PEL:SSW Field Program in the SSW.

Hire, supervise and mentor all adjunct faculty teaching in School Social Work Program.

Assists the AU Enrollment Department with admissions by participating in student orientations and all MSW student open house activities.

Participates in activities of departmental academic committees.

Work with the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) to entitle students as the Licensure Officer for the PEL: SSW Endorsement.

Attend annual licensure trainings and maintain communication with the Illinois State Board of Education.

Develop curriculum, update and manage “master” syllabi for school track courses.

Essential Job Requirements:

Education:

• Master's Degree in Social Work Required and Current Professional Educator License with a School Social Work Endorsement

Skills:

• Ability to communicate effectively, including reading, writing, and speaking.
• Ability ty to build positive relationships with students and practicing community.
• Ability to teach.
• Ability to work on a team with faculty.
• Ability to use MS Word and Excel software.
• Performs under general supervision. Determines own methods of performing assigned work.
