Job Description:
Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the head coach is responsible for recruiting, practice planning and skill development, fund-raising, scheduling, academic monitoring, commitment to community service and managing the Minnesota State women's volleyball program. Position is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Minnesota State, the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and the National Collegiate Athletic Association.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree. (Conferred on an official transcript at the time of application.)
  • Coaching experience at the collegiate level.
  • Requires excellent speaking, writing and basic computer skills. Ability to articulate ideas and strategies.
  • Ability to teach and instruct the technical and motivational aspects of the sport to student-athletes.
  • Develop, coordinate and supervise practice and training of student-athletes.
  • Experience in recruiting highly-competitive individuals, while supporting the development of each student-athlete academically, physically and socially.
  • Support the individual academic goals of student-athletes and provide opportunities for academic assistance to student-athletes if required, monitoring the academic progress of each participating student-athlete.
  • Oversee and manage coaching staff that includes a full-time assistant coach and a graduate assistant coach.
  • Maintain the budget for women’s volleyball. Raise funds to enhance the women’s volleyball budget.
  • Assist with other athletic department duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
  • Master’s Degree.

Other Requirements:
Work safely at all times, which includes but is not limited to, participating and completing all required safety trainings, as well as performing all job tasks in accordance with Minnesota State University, Mankato policies and procedures utilizing appropriate tools, equipment and personal protective equipment.
