Position Description

The Department of World Languages and Cultures at The University of Toledo invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor position in Japanese beginning August 23, 2021. The area of specialization is open, but primary responsibilities will focus on language teaching at the advanced level, in addition to developing courses in Japanese culture in English.

Qualifications:

Preference will be given to candidates who have completed a Ph.D. in a relevant field at time of employment and to applicants who are proficient in both Japanese and English, have demonstrated teaching excellence, have familiarity with current language pedagogy as well as experiences of using technology in classroom teaching.  

Preferred qualifications include experience mentoring underrepresented minority students.
