LMC's film production curriculum includes video production, advanced video production, cinematography, music video production, and documentary film production. It has a dedicated post-production lab with access to the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and DaVinci Resolve software. It is also home to LMCFilms, a film and video equipment rental house that provides a range of industry-standard equipment for students and researchers working in these fields. Additionally, our campus is located in a vibrant film community. It is close to several post-production houses, including Moonshine Post-Production, Hero Post, Company 3, Trilith Studios, and Tyler Perry Studios. The School of Literature, Media, and Communication is a multi-disciplinary program. It offers degrees in Literature, Media, and Communication, and in Computational Media, M.S. degrees in Digital Media, Human-Computer Interaction, and Global Media and Cultures, as well as a Ph.D. in Digital Media. Film and media courses are taught across these and adjourning programs and attract a wide range of students. The School includes the Writing and Communication Program, the Brittain Postdoctoral Fellowship Program, the Institute's Communication Center (CommLab), and provides discipline-specific courses and communication support for campus-wide audiences. We are especially interested in applicants who will work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds, including racial and ethnic minorities, women, individuals who identify as LGBTQ+ communities, individuals with disabilities, individuals from lower-income backgrounds/or first-generation college students.  The School of Literature, Media, and Communication (LMC) of the Georgia Institute of Technology (Atlanta, Georgia) seeks to fill a non-tenure-track Lecturer position in Film and Television Production, with a specialization in post-production techniques effective August 1, 2021. Applicant should demonstrate creative and technical expertise, as well as a strong commitment to offering new courses that support our growing film and media courses as part of LMC's vibrant undergraduate and graduate degree programs. The candidate will teach classes focused on post-production, including but not limited to 3D animated filmmaking, sound design, AR/VR filmmaking, immersive filmmaking, compositing, VFX, and advanced editing. While post-production experience is the primary focus, the candidate will also be expected to teach Intro to Video Production. The ideal candidate is an experienced editor who can integrate theoretical and practical approaches to post-production through hands-on techniques and forms. They should have experience in and a commitment to teaching both introductory and advanced post-production courses. The typical teaching load is 3/3. Master's degree in an appropriate field.
