Summary/Objective: As a key member of the Leadership Cabinet, the Dean of Student Support is selected and appointed by the President. The Dean of Student Support reports to the Provost and works closely with Executives and Administrators within the college. The appointee to this position will have a minimum of a master’s degree (preferred doctoral degree) with ten years in a higher education setting with a high concentration in student affairs.
Essential Functions:
Collaborate with other executives and administrators of the college to identify and address critical issues impacting the mission, vision, and strategic direction.
Work closely with all members of the college community to provide a cohesive and comprehensive student experience.
Coordinate the development and management of co-curricular learning and service opportunities with campus constituencies and community leaders.
Serve as an active member of the Leadership Cabinet, proactively representing the needs of students and the perspectives of all student matters.
Develop, oversee, and support student-centered programs and services to complement the academic mission of the institution.
Work closely with student leadership as an advisor, mentor, and advocate.
Help establish a student culture where discourse is encouraged and where students learn to respect differences, take responsibility for their actions, and exercise leadership.
Establish standards and management practices to ensure the quality and contemporary validity of all Student Affairs programs, including the oversight of program reviews and other means of assessment.
Remain current on all legal matters regarding student affairs and due process, including student rights under FERPA.
Responsible for administering the process of complete withdrawal from the college.

Required Education and Experience
Ten Years of Leadership Experience in Student Affairs/Support
Detail-oriented
Proven Leader
Ability to communicate well both written and verbally
Computer savvy on industry software, including MS Office Suite.
Ph.D. preferred
