Position Summary:

This position is a member of the College of Engineering Research Services Team within the Office of Research located within the Dean's Office. The Research Services Team has administrative responsibility for all aspects of extramural research support for 8 academic departments and over 30 centers within the College of Engineering and reports directly to the Assistant Dean for Research Administration. This position is responsible for advising and supporting pre-award sponsored research activities for faculty and staff in the College of Engineering, specifically federal/nonfederal contract (funded & unfunded) negotiations and proposal review and approval. Activities will require interacting directly with investigators, faculty/staff, department/centers, campus administrators, and sponsors/agencies to ensure that University and funding agency rules, regulations, policies, and guidelines are followed.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

B.A./B.S. Required

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

One year required, three or more years of substantial involvement in sponsored research administration, specifically working with federal/nonfederal contracts & agreements is preferred.

Additional Information:

Experience working effectively with faculty and staff and strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to be flexible in work assignments and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience with meeting deadlines; independent problem solving and analytical abilities.
Comprehensive working with Microsoft Excel and Word and with database management tools.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, collegial team environment.
