The Department of Family and Consumer Sciences is one of four departments in the College of Health Sciences, and the Interior Design program is one of four undergraduate programs in the department. The Department invites applications for the position of a Clinical Assistant Professor of Interior Design. The department offers a B.S. or B.A. in Interior Design and holds accreditation from the Council for Interior Design Accreditation ( CIDA ) and National Association of Schools of Art and Design ( NASAD ).

The primary responsibilities of this position include teaching undergraduate courses in the Interior Design BA/BS program including lower-level and upper-level studios and lecture courses in interior design. The appointment will include a 4/4 teaching load.

The position is a clinical track, nine-month position with potential for summer employment.

Educational Requirements for the Position

Qualified applicants must hold at least a Master’s Degree in Interior Design, M.Arch, or design-related field. PhD is preferred.

Experience Required for the Position

Evidence of university level-teaching experience and/or professional practice experience required.

Other Requirements for the Position

NCIDQ certification preferred, or willingness to seek license in field of study.

Membership in professional organizations preferred.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and the Adobe Creative Suite is required.
