Working Title: BSN@Home Program Assistant Official Title: University Services Program Associate Employment Class: University Staff FTE: 0.80 Compensation: $16.04 - $19.68 FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Terms of Employment: Continuous Position Summary:

This position reports to the Post Licensure Program Director. The individual serves as program assistant for the BSN@Home and provides administrative support in the Dean’s office. The individual has daily contact with university services staff, faculty, academic staff, students and administrators. An individual in this role must be self-motivated, highly organized, and have working knowledge of college and university policies and procedures. The individual must display professional communication skills, and function independently with moderate supervision. This position functions with a high level of confidentiality.

Responsibilities
  • BSN@Home – 65%


  • A1. Provides administrative support to the Assistant Director for the BSN@Home program.

    A2. Works collaboratively with University offices to assure smooth processes for BSN@Home students.

    A3. Maintains program required student and preceptor records, annual reports and statewide data base records.

    A4. Assists with program marketing, recruitment, retention and graduation.

    A5. Maintains and monitors University, State Board of Nursing and accreditation deadlines for the
    BSN@Home program.

    A6. Communicates with internal and external stakeholders, i.e. healthcare agencies, vendors etc.

    A7. Creates, distributes and collects student applications, ensure accuracy of online applications.

    A8. Schedules, coordinates and oversees admission process for BSN@Home students, including adding and dropping students as appropriate.

    A9. Correspond with students and background check agency to evaluate health records and criminal background checks of students.

    A10. Initiate and develop admission process reports through compilation of data.

    A11. Monitors and verifies transfer courses, notifies Assistant Director regarding deficiencies.

    A12. Monitor system to track all agency requirements and assist with agency representative interaction to assure agency requirements are met.

  • Administrative support – 35%


  • B1. Maintains travel email account and provide instruction and maintenance to faculty and staff
    regarding proper submission of travel expense requests (TERs)s.

    B2. Reviews and approves all departmental TERs.

    B3. Coordinates and assists in special events including Nightingale.

    B4. Assist with hiring student workers. Continue to train and supervise student workers

    B5. Supports monthly R&PD Committee, including minute taking, record keeping and meeting scheduling. Collect materials for research requests, doctoral requests, conference requests and publication bonus requests.

    B6. Supports Evaluation Committee meetings, including minute taking, record keeping and meeting scheduling.

    B7. Assists with processing correspondence, i.e. compose letters, agendas, and interdepartmental correspondence.

    B8. Other duties as assigned by the Dean’s office, Program Directors, or Assistant Director(s).

    B9. Provide coverage in the main office when co-workers are absent.

    Qualifications Required:
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience that will have prepared the applicant for the responsibilities for this position. GED, HSED, or HSed required.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and good judgement.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, professionalism and demonstrated ability to communicate with personnel from diverse backgrounds.
  • Commitment to the highest standards of customer service and absolute discretion regarding confidential information.
  • Ability to prioritize workload to meet the needs of multiple areas of responsibility.
  • Proficient computer skills to prepare documentation, perform data entry and retrieval utilizing word processing and spreadsheet software, interactive database systems, and website maintenance.
  • Engage in all job ­related interactions with a courteous and professional attitude.
  • Willingly collaborate/assist other staff when possible, work as a team member.
  • Exhibit the ability to resolve problems in a professional manner.
  • Bring a positive and optimistic attitude to the workplace.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Participate in professional development and training to become more effective and efficient in the position.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Preferred:
    1. Associate Degree in a related field.
    2. Comprehensive understanding of the College of Nursing procedures
    3. High level proficiency with the university Student Information System
    4. Expert knowledge of CON/clinical agency health requirements, medical terminology, medical records, lab reports, HIPAA, CDC, OSHA, and clinical agency expectations for care givers, and Wisconsin’s Caregiver Law
