Addtional Information:

We're looking for a serious journalist with experience covering a health beat. We have one of the world's largest medical centers that does amazing research. Furthermore, we'd love to be shedding more light on the disparities in community health related to income, climate change, gun violence, diet, and proximity to our area's chemical industries and coal-burning power plants. We also have suburban and exurban areas with limited coverage by community newspapers or radio stations, areas where our reporting would be valuable because these are some of the very locations that are most affected by things like toxic waste and particular forms of gun violence.

A major criteria to be a leading candidate for this position is to be able to tackle these challenges from Day One.
