Overview

Reporting to the assistant dean of undergraduate students, the program coordinator will play a central role supporting the work of the 58 student arts organizations registered with the Office of the Dean of Undergraduate Students (ODUS), as well as individual student artists using ODUS-managed resources such as the recording studio, the video production studio, and digital editing suites, to produce artistic work on campus. The coordinator will serve as the primary administrative point for all activity, both from groups and individual students, in the recording studio, video production student, and digital editing suites opened in the 2018-2019 academic year. The program coordinator will develop and implement policies for these new campus resources, and hire and supervise students who work in these spaces.

Working collaboratively with colleagues from across campus to support the mission and function of student-directed arts on campus, the program coordinator creates leadership development opportunities for students while ensuring fiscal stewardship, policy compliance, best practices, and a high-level service to the University community. The coordinator will serve as a conduit between student arts organizations and various University departments, including the Lewis Center for the Arts, the Music Department, McCarter Theater, and Event and Venue Support Services.

In anticipation of the new academic calendar and the creation of a Wintersession program for the University community, the program coordinator will serve as the administrative point in ODUS for all Wintersession work, both logistical and programmatic, as it relates to student organizations registered with ODUS.

The program coordinator will work with the staff of the Pace Center to ensure that service and fundraising work undertaken by arts organizations is done in a responsible manner consistent with university goals and objectives in civic engagement work. This work will include arts fundraisers held on campus, ad hoc civic engagement projects off campus (including student tours domestic and international) and ongoing partnerships with community organizations. The program coordinator will establish initiatives that enhance diversity in the arts, including the creation of grants for student organizations to diversify their artistic offerings to the Princeton Community. The program coordinator will direct all aspects of the management of resources for the arts, including the daily administration of a recording studio in Bloomberg Hall, video editing suites in Bloomberg and 48 University Place, and the Video Production Studio in 48 University Place. In directing these activities, the program coordinator will connect with all other University offices and programs such as the Broadcast Center, Lewis Center for the Arts, and residential colleges who offering similar resources to students. The program coordinator will work with the performing arts groups to strategize and develop sustainable and successful scheduling and space use practices.
Events Management

When ODUS sponsors large-scale arts events, the program coordinator will assume the administrative lead in these events. The program coordinator will be responsible for developing the master schedule for the event, direct colleagues in specific work, and liaise with university offices involved in the production of the program. The program coordinator will serve as an important conduit between university staff and administration and contractors and artists from outside the university community in our collaborative production work. The program coordinator will be responsible for creating and implementing a robust advertising and marketing plan for these large-scale events.
