Position Summary

POSITION SUMMARY
The Office of Student Activities and Wellness offers students the ability to enhance their educational experience with activities and opportunities outside the classroom setting. This position works directly with chartered clubs and their student leaders and advisers, develops health promotions, collaborates with the Student Wellness Advocates to develop and support wellness programs for students, and assists department social media and the overall Student Life efforts of JJC . This position will also develop procedures for clubs and ensure the procedures are followed. Fast paced environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Serve as the adviser to the Collegiate Club Council, and support student leaders and club advisers. Responsibilities include providing trainings, facilitating meetings, technical support, maintaining club forms, monitoring club budgets, reviewing Collegiate Club Council constitution, reviewing club constitutions, and plan and host the end of the year Recognition Event for clubs.
2. Develop learning outcomes and assessment tools for clubs’ efforts, related student development, club adviser efforts, and wellness events to ensure learning outcomes are being met.
3. Assist with the development and maintenance of the student activities master calendar that includes the development of programs such as wellness, club, diversity, social justice, leadership, and other co-curricular activities.
4. Develop and implement the Student Activities communication plan including social media, marketing materials, Canvas, webpages, MyJJC portal, and other approved communication outlets.
5. Assist Manager with preparation and maintenance of Collegiate Club Council student fee budget and manage the Wellness departmental budget.
6. Supervise clerical staff and student workers, as well as faculty and staff who serve as JJC club advisers.
7. Serve as a member of the Wellness Team, under the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities, to support sustainable efforts using a Strategic Prevention Framework ( SPF ) and environmental strategies.
8. Collaborate with JJC Athletics Department to enhance campus life.
9. Develop and coordinate efforts of the college’s Safe Zone program. This includes scheduling in-services, initial trainings, and working closely with LGBTQIA+ populations on campus to ensure needs are being met.
10. Coordinate community service and volunteer referral services.
11. Assist the Manager in the implementation of programs on and off campus conducted by Student Activities, Student Government, and the Collegiate Club Council. Must be able to work a flexible evening/weekend schedule.
12. Represent Student Activities and Wellness on internal and external committees
13. Ensure compliance with Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act ( DFSCA and Drug-Free Schools and Campuses Regulations) identified by board policy 3.14.00.
14. Clery Act departmental responsibilities as identified by board policy 11.11.00 Clery Act Compliance and other compliance policies and procedures.
15. Perform other related duties as assigned
