A postdoctoral position is available to investigate functional connectivity networks and brain tissue microstructure signals in Alzheimer’s disease mouse models. Demonstrable experience with in vivo rodent neurobehavioral research and/or neurobiological approaches is essential. Experience with small animal magnetic resonance imaging and/or programming skills in MATLAB, python, UNIX is preferred, although not required of the applicant. The project, funded by the National Institute on Aging, will involve substantial training with high field magnetic resonance imaging in a genetically diverse panel of mice harboring familial Alzheimer’s disease APP and presenilin mutations. The postdoctoral trainee will conduct studies using an 11.1 Tesla Bruker system in the Advanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Spectroscopy (AMRIS) facility in the University of Florida McKnight Brain Institute. Training will involve image acquisition, processing, statistical analyses and programming, manuscript preparation, and presentation of work at local and national conferences. The trainee will receive direct instruction in these areas from Dr. Marcelo Febo and will be encouraged to audit local courses in brain imaging to strengthen education in these areas.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent in Neuroscience, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, or closely related fields. Salary is commensurate with experience level and in accordance with current NIH postdoctoral salary scales.
