The Division of Global Engagement (DGE) works to make the University of Oregon a more global university. In 21st century higher education, international engagement is not an optional extra: as noted in UO's Academic Plan, it is a core mission, essential to a thriving, socially salient, intellectually robust academic community. It is part of the normal functioning of every school, college, department, and center. DGE works to support and integrate the wide range of international engagements, global-scale projects, and transnational partnerships launched and maintained in our many academic units. Units within DGE consist of International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS), Global Education Oregon (GEO), Global Studies Institute (GSI), and Mills International Center.
The Institutional Relations Specialist (IRS) works with the Assistant Director for Institutional Relations on the development and implementation of DGE's strategic enrollment management plan. The position is a key member of DGE's Institutional Relations Team (IRT), which is tasked with developing and implementing effective strategies to reach target enrollment goals. The IRT takes the lead on institutional relations efforts related to the maintenance and expansion of DGE's campus recruitment base. Key responsibilities include the development, organization, initiation, and execution of strategies that lead to increased international engagement among UO students. This position also monitors key enrollment benchmarks identified by the Institutional Relations team to ensure the high visibility of DGE and its programming among various UO student constituencies.
The IRS will collaborate closely with DGE study abroad advisors, program coordinators and DGE alumni to organize activities and efforts that are both strategic and effective on matters related to enrollment.
