Department Summary
The University Health Center (UHC) is a unit within the Division of Student Services and Enrollment Management and is a nationally accredited (AAAHC) outpatient clinic providing primary care to students at the University of Oregon. The UHC's mission is to provide exceptional culturally competent health services and public health leadership that enhances personal success and optimizes health and wellness for a diverse campus community.

Position Summary
The purpose of this position is to evaluate, diagnose, treat, and/or prescribe health care and treatment for University of Oregon students independently or in conjunction with other University Health Center physicians. Decisions on health care assessment and follow-up treatment of patients affect the well-being and life of the student/patient.

Position requires routine screening of Medicaid and Medicare Exclusion Lists. Employee loses eligibility for employment if on the List of Excluded Individuals and Entities (LEIE) and/or System of Award Management (SAM).

Positions are part-time or temporary with appointments of up to one year, with the possibility of renewal depending on need, funding and/or performance.

Minimum Requirements
  • Physicians and dentists are required to have a current professional license from the State of Oregon and a current DEA number.
  • Physicians must be currently board-certified in their specialty.
  • Continuing medical education reports and up-to-date CPR training are required.
  • Dietitians must be a registered dietitian and licensed in the State of Oregon.

    Must be in compliance with UHC policies regarding tuberculosis screening, measles and mumps (MMR), seasonal flu, hepatitis B, and other immunization requirements.

    Preferred Qualifications
  • Three years' experience providing primary care medicine for physicians.
  • Family Medicine or Internal Medicine background for physicians.
  • Experience working with international students is desirable.
  • Experience in quality improvement activities, peer review and medical risk management analysis.
  • Experience in one-on-one counseling for dietitians.
