Department Summary
The Institute of Ecology and Evolution (IE²) facilitates research and graduate education in ecology and evolutionary biology. The institute fosters a collegial and stimulating intellectual environment for world-class research in molecular evolution, evolutionary genetics, evolution of development, and microbial, population, community, and ecosystems ecology. IE²'s students and faculty are working in the laboratory and the field to address fundamental and applied questions about the organization and history of life on earth.

Position Summary
The Institute of Ecology and Evolution invites applications for its Research Assistant Professor open pool. These positions will conduct independent research using biological, computational, mathematical, and statistical methods to analyze, interpret and compile results. The Research Assistant Professor will present the results of their intellectual work at international conferences and publish results in peer-reviewed journals. These positions may be responsible for providing training to graduate and undergraduate students in methods and analyses and may supervise technicians and research staff.

Positions are limited duration appointments potentially renewable for up to a total of three years. In limited circumstances, there is the possibility of renewal beyond three years based on programmatic need, funding and performance. Salary is dependent on education and experience.

Applicants will be responsible to secure external funding for their research prior to appointment.

Minimum Requirements
PhD in biology with emphasis on ecology and evolution.
