TENURE-ELIGIBLE AND NON-TENURED FACULTY POSITIONS IN OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY DOCTORAL PROGRAM
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Whitworth
University’s Doctor of Occupational Therapy Program (OTD) invites
applications for multiple 12-month tenure-track and
non-tenure-track residential faculty positions to join its founding
Doctor of Occupational Therapy Program. The Doctor of Occupational
Therapy Program is preparing to submit a Candidacy Report to the
Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) in
Fall 2021. The Doctor of Occupational Therapy Program promotes
innovative, creative, holistic interprofessional “mind and heart”
education for developing and empowering ethically competent
transformational-leaders in occupational therapy and healthcare.
The program will prepare Doctor of Occupational Therapy Program
graduates with faith integration, reciprocal therapeutic
relationships, understanding the potency of daily life activities;
the program prepares practice scholars who use best scientific
evidence to be catalysts for change, advocate for occupational
justice, and serve humanity. The candidates will join faculty to
engage in scholarly opportunities that contribute to the
advancement of the profession, create innovative learner-centered
delivery models that provide education excellence, and meet
national accreditation standards for Doctor of Occupational Therapy
education.
Whitworth University is constructing a state-of-the-art Health Sciences Building with dedicated classrooms, activities of daily living, pediatric and adult neuroscience lab spaces, simulation labs, motional analysis lab, and an on-campus interprofessional clinic to foster close integration of theory, translational research and applied interprofessional clinical practice.
Start Date: July 2021 (starting date flexible)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: OT doctoral degrees preferred, however,
academic doctoral degree candidates will be considered for select
faculty lines. Earned clinical or post-professional doctorate
degree in Occupational Therapy or related field (PhD,
Post-Professional Doctorate [OTD, DrOT], DSc, EdD, ScD) by Fall
2022.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience (>5 preferred) as an occupational therapist.
Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
