Job Summary

BioServe Space Technologies, within the Ann and HJ Smead Aerospace Engineering Sciences department, encourages applications for a PostDoctoral Researcher ! This position will design and perform experiments, analyze data, write publications, supervise graduate and undergraduate researchers, and perform research associated administrative tasks.

Who We Are

Bioastronautics encompasses biological, behavioral and medical aspects governing humans and other living organisms in a space flight environment; and includes design of payloads, spacecraft habitats, and life support systems. In short, this focus area spans the study and support of life in space.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Research focused on human perception and control of self-orientation, including using galvanic vestibular stimulation and virtual reality. This will involve designing, recruiting, conducting, and analyzing data from human subject experiments.
  • Reporting results of the research in peer-reviewed journal publications and reports as required by the sponsors.
  • Working with graduate and undergraduate students and other laboratory researchers.
  • Continuous professional development by reviewing and writing papers, attending seminars and conferences, and participating and laboratory activities.

What We Can Offer

The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $50,000 annually.

What We Require

Ph.D. in Engineering or Biomedical fields, such as Kinesiology.

What You Will Need

Previous research experience, particularly related to biomedical or aerospace engineering, performing human subject experiments and publishing papers.
