Responsibilities

The eSchool faculty provide academic expertise supporting the design, development, and delivery of the school's educational programs, develop curriculum for online graduate-level courses, and teach both non-resident and in-resident classes within core curriculum courses. eSchool faculty also provide institutional service to senior leadership.

The focus of the position is on curriculum development and instruction in the distance learning and online environment. Because of the interdisciplinary nature of the eSchool program, this position may require teaching across disciplines within the school. The person in this position will require a broad knowledge and wide range of experience in leadership and organizational principles as well as interpersonal and group problem skills applicable to the military environment. Additionally, it is desired that all candidates possess general knowledge and/or experience in values, ethics, morality of war, group dynamics, team building, advocacy/negotiations and creative and critical thinking, as well as general knowledge of the global environment, international political structures and strategy, military thought, theory, organization, and capabilities and limitations of military forces.

Extensive relevant professional experience is highly desired, as well as academic curriculum development and teaching experience. It is desired that the successful candidate hold a doctoral degree or requisite experiences in a relevant academic discipline and field, such as leadership and ethics, organizational psychology, organizational leadership and management, or closely-related academic concentration and/or have significant military command experience. Demonstrated superior teaching performance and expertise with Distance Education programs is desired. Experience in professional military education in the areas of curriculum development and teaching in the subject areas above is desired.
